Helen L (Fetters) Hedrick

February 13, 1922 — July 22, 2019

Everett

Helen L. Hedrick 97, of Everett, went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2019, at her daughter’s home with her daughter by her side.  She was born on February 13, 1922, at her family home in Southampton Township, a daughter of the late Colonel M. and Rhoda (Bowman) Fetters.  On June 3, 1945, in Flintstone, MD she married Perry Fray Hedrick who preceded her in death on August 21, 2006.  She is survived by a daughter, Darlene, and husband, Joseph E. Fink Sr., of Everett; three grandchildren: Joseph E. Fink Jr., and wife, Christine (Ritchey), of Loris, SC; Janine England and husband, Todd, of New Enterprise; and Teresa Nicole Bagley and husband, Jerry, of Bedford; 13 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by three sisters: Barbara Fetters; Belva Redinger and husband John; Lena Wigfield and husband Edgar; a brother Elden Fetters; two nephews: Kenny Wigfield and Dewayne Fetters; a niece Patricia Ann Fetters; in-laws: Clay and Rovivie Hedrick; and two brothers-in-law: Carl Hedrick and wife Ila, and Roy Hedrick and wife Celia (Dona).

Helen was a member of the former Tecumseh Methodist Church and the Everett United Methodist Church for over 65 years.  She was employed by the Everett Lion Manufacturing Co. and was also a 25 year employee of the Everett School District as an assistant cook at the high school.  After retiring she babysat for many families in the area.  She looked forward to seeing the beautiful sunshine every day.  Her love of flowers was shown through the several flower beds she created around her home where she spent many hours weeding.  She had a fondness of chickens and, therefore, collected anything decorated with them.  Her favorite spot during the warm weather was her porch swing. Helen was loved dearly by her family, friends, and neighbors, and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at the Everett United Methodist Church, with Pastor David Calovi officiating.  Burial will be at Everett Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Arrangements by Keenan M. Fink, Funeral Director and great-grandson.  In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions in Helen’s name to: Everett United Methodist Church, 221 E. Main Street, Everett, PA 15537.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com
