Helen M. Boore

Helen Marie Boore 96, of Egolf Road, Bedford died, Thursday, October 2, 2008 at her residence.  She was born March 5, 1912 in Bedford, daughter of the late Foster E. and Minnie C. (Leonard) Boore.  She is survived by three nieces: Sandra wife of Richard Goodman, where she made her home, Janice wife of Arthur Burtnett, Julie wife of  Ken Recker, three nephews: Jeff Hershberger and wife Marsha, Joel Hershberger and wife Sandy and Donald Boore and wife Anna Marie, five great nieces: Lindsey Gardner, Amy Hallman, Terri Konst, Kathy Garcia, Sharon Conklin, four great nephews: Richard Goodman II, Todd Goodman, Tony Boore, and Jamie Hershberger, five great great nieces, and five great great.nephews, and her loving care giver, Barbara Diehl. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Louise Boore, Evelyn Zeller and Betty Hershberger, two brothers: Robert and Charles Boore, one niece Gloria Conklin, a nephew Vernon Boore and one great niece Patty Conklin.

Helen was a lifetime member of the Bedford United Methodist Church.  While living in Harrisburg she was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 49 years, and after returning to Bedford, rejoined Bedford United Methodist.  She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority, and was also a volunteer for RSVP in Bedford.  She worked as the secretary for the purchasing agent at AMP Inc. in Harrisburg for 23 years

Funeral Services: Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Jeff Welsch and Rev. Joseph Shawley officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Monday from 3-7 PM at the funeral home.
