Hazel L. Detweiler, 83, West Penn Street Bedford, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 9, 1923 in Bedford, A Daughter of the late Lloyd and Pearl (Clites) Diehl. On March 29, 1946 She married the late John M. Detweiler She is survived by toe daughters, Susan J. wife of John Wooten of Goodlettsville, TN, and Sylvia E. Detweiler of Denver , Co, 2 sons, Tracy J. married to the former Sylvia Miranba of Naples, Fl, and Casey J. married to the former Kathy Bulger of Bedford, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two on the way, five brothers Charles, Wayne, Boyd, Robert, and Lloyd Jr., Diehl, two sisters Bonnie & Fran. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Irene & Connie and 3 brothers, Dalton, Paul and Merle.
Along with her husband She owned and operated Bedford Gas Company from 1949 to 1967 she enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral Services on Friday, October 27, 2006, at 10:00 AM from the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with the Rev. Doug Friant officiating. Burial in Daley Cemetery, Central City. Friends will be received from 5- 8 PM, Thursday and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the Funeral Home.
