Harry J. Gardner, 98, of Bedford, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard. He was born on January 14, 1928 in Bedford, a son of the late David and Ethel Mae (Keller) Gardner. He married JoAnne (Nayler) Gardner and she preceded him in death on April 27, 2020. He is survived by two daughters: Susan Houck and husband Stanley of CA, and Laurie Dudley and husband Michael of FL; eight grandchildren; a nephew: Larry Gardner of Bedford; and a niece: Pam Miller of Bedford. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Leigh Ann Gardner; one grandson; three sisters: Mary Morgan, Joyce Shull, and Carol Kilgore; and three brothers: James, Fred, and Stanley Gardner.
Harry served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and later finished a career with the Marines. After his service, he worked a career in Law Enforcement in Carson City, NV and the Public Service Commission in Elks, NV. He was a member of the Bedford American Legion Post # 113, and in his younger years was an avid outdoorsman.
