Harry "Ace" E. Karns

Harry E. “Ace” Karns 86, of Bedford, died Thursday, December 26, 2024 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on May 15, 1938 in Imlertown, and was raised by Roy and Anna Allen.  On May 27, 1972 in Bedford, he married Mary B. (Buckey) Karns who survives along with three sons: Harry E. Karns Jr. and wife Cherrie, of Bend, OR, Jeffrey Karns and wife Vicki, of Hollidaysburg, and Adam Karns and wife Lisa, of St. Augustine, FL; three grandchildren: Spenser, Logan, and Jesse Karns; two great-grandchildren: Kyler and Dean Karns; a sister Lois Hyde and husband Richard, of Bedford; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a grandson Ryan Karns, a sister Patty Burkett, and a nephew Robert Hyde.

Harry was a retired contractor and entrepreneur.  He was an avid hunter and antique collector, and he enjoyed taking care of “Mary’s Garden”.  He deeply loved his family and friends.  Harry was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at the Bedford Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jack Miller officiating.  Burial at Bedford Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Monday, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
