Hamilton A. Bradwell

Hamilton A. “Ham” Bradwell, 89, of South Juliana Street, Bedford, died,  Friday, September 20, 2013, at Donahoe Manor. He was born August 26, 1924, in Pittsburgh, a son of of the late Thomas S. and Henrietta (Dundas) Bradwell. On July 3, 1947, in Pittsburgh, he married Maryanne “Mickey” (Jones) Bradwell, who survives along with a son, Michael Bradwell and wife Elizabeth of Washington and a daughter, Lisa wife of Robert Cox of Slatington; a granddaughter, Hadley wife of Michael Sheley of Seattle, WA;  six  step-grandchildren, Dr. Stephen Bader and wife Amy of Mt. Lebanon; Victoria wife of Joseph Baker of Washington; Allison wife of Gregory Kittridge of Philadelphia, Phillip Bader and wife Rachel of Washington, Elizabeth Cox of Bethlehem, and John Cox of Philadelphia; eight step-great-grandchildren, Samuel, Lucy, Margaret and Frederick Bader; Dane and Finn Baker; Annabelle Kittridge; and Emma Cox; a niece and several nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas S. Bradwell III.

Mr. Bradwell attended Carnegie schools and was a 1950 graduate of Business Training College of Pittsburgh (predecessor to Point Park University). He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a mortar crewman with the U.S.  Army’s 36th Infantry Division in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany. He enjoyed playing golf with his regular foursome and in the Tuesday night men’s league at Bedford Elks Lodge #1707, where he was a life member.  He also enjoyed annual golf trips to Myrtle Beach and deep-sea fishing in the Bahamas.  In 1988, he retired as a medical products sales representative from Wyeth Pharmaceuticals (Pfizer), after 27 years of service. A devoted husband and father, he was a member of Bedford Presbyterian Church.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home with Thalia Fleetwood officiating.  Full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com
