Gloria F. (Miller) Burkett

Gloria F. Burkett, 83, of Bedford, died on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard. She was born on June 27, 1941 in Somerset, a daughter of the late Mahlon and Mary (Sarver) Miller. On May 4, 1959 in Bedford, she married Lawrence J. Burkett who preceded her in death on January 20, 2013. She is survived by two daughters: Norma Smith and husband Stephen of Bedford; and Tammy Taylor and fiancé Chad Graham of Bedford; 12 grandchildren: Sean McGee, Preston Taylor, Trevor Graham, Jessica Allen and husband Jesse, Kelly Perrotte and husband Brandon, Robert Margraff, Jolene Dodson and husband Mike, Jonathan Burkett, Sarah Burkett, Jesse Hackshaw, Isaiah Thompson, and Josh Thompson; 10 great-grandchildren:  Haiden, Gemma, Jasper, Avaleigh, Joey, Vanessa, Emmalynn, Althea, Percy, and Tamia; and one sister Fairy Price and husband Junior of Bedford.  She was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Fluke widower Joe of Hopewell, and a son Larry Burkett widow Rebecca of Hancock, MD; one sister Roselie Kay Kamauf; and two brothers:  Melvin and Freeman Miller.

Gloria was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, puzzles, being with her grandchildren, and grand-pets.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford, with Father Richard Tomkosky celebrant.  Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
