Glenn A. Layton, 69, of Bedford, died Monday, July 11, 2016, at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, in Johnstown. He was born on January 17, 1947, in Bedford, a son of the late Harry and Melvie (Hillegass) Layton. On September 4, 2007, in Bedford, he married Evelyn K. (Paulson) Layton who preceded him in death on September 23, 2009. He is survived by two sons: Tim Layton of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Jim Layton of Lawrenceville; a daughter, Tina Layton of Bedford; two step-daughters, Heather Calaman, of Bedford, Rebecca A. Sheehan and husband Robert, of Cresson, a step-son, Danny Calaman Jr., married to the former Tracy Brown of Bellwood; three brothers, Dave, Steve, and Harry Layton, two sisters, Sylvia "Jean" Grubb, and Patricia McDaniel. He was preceded in death by one sister Ethel White.
Glenn retired after 35 years from the Bedford Township. He enjoyed his dog, mowing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at 11:00 am, in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Pastor William Defibaugh officiating. Burial at Imler Valley Cemetery. Friends will be received on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
