Georgia R. Brown

August 27, 1923 — April 20, 2014

Georgia R. Brown, 90, of Lincoln Highway, Bedford, died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at her home. She was born on August 27, 1923, in Hooversville, a daughter of the late Grant D. and Ona (Miller) Ringler. On November 12, 1950, in Johnstown, she married D. Ned Brown who preceded her in death on September 22, 1994.  She is survived by a sister: Phyllis, widow of Jack Colledge of Everett; two daughters: Karen Grundy, wife of Thomas Grundy of Mechanicsville, VA; and Donna Hogarty of Bedford; a son, Donald Brown, married to the former Robin Craig of Everett; three grandchildren: Jeremiah (and wife Ivy), Ona, and Kellen; four great-grandchildren: Kai, Ilan, Christina, and Ana; and a great-great-granddaughter: Honesty.  In addition, Georgia is survived by four loving caregivers to whom the family is profoundly grateful: Alberta Arnold, Bobbi Jo Crawley, Denise Hershberger, and Phyllis Johnson. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Sheldon Ringler, widow Jane surviving of Johnstown, and Donald Ringler, widow Lucille surviving of Johnstown; a sister: Lois Ringler, and an infant brother, Zellers Ringler.

Georgia was a long-term member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Bedford.  Her funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev.
