Franklin W. Hershberger, 85 of Victoria Ave., Everett, formerly of Orchard Heights in Bedford, died Friday, December 28, 2012 at his residence. He was born on February 6, 1927 in Everett, a son of the late Frank and Lula (Williams) Hershberger. On February 26, 1950 in Bedford, he married Betty J. Boore, and she preceded him in death on May 30, 2006. He is survived by three children: Jeff Hersberger, married to the former Marsha Smith of Everett, Joel Hershberger, married to the former Sandy Bender of Bedford, and Julie, wife of Ken Recker of Everett, three grandchildren; Jamie Hershberger, Amy Hallman and Lindsey Gallagher, two great grandchildren, Madison and Makenzie Hershberger, a special niece, Myra Jean Deist and his dog and best friend Mike. He was preceded in death by a daughter Janice Burtnett and a sister Grace Fritz.
Mr. Hershberger was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church. He was a retired truck driver for Owens of Illinois and SAC Inc., and was known buy his neighbors in Orchard Heights as Mr. Fix it.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev. Jeff Welsch officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday morning one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
