Frank O. Croyl Jr.

Frank O. Croyl Jr., 79 of Yingling Road, Osterburg, died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the Hollidaysburg Veteran Home.  He was born October, 6, 1930 in Bedford, son of the late Frank O. Croyl Sr. and Ann Elizabeth (Cogan) Croyl Day.  On September 1, 1955 in Cumberland, he married Dorla Crissman, and she preceded him in death on June 28, 2007.  He is survived by three children; Jackie wife of Daniel Finnegan of Claysburg, Steve married to the former Kandy Mearkle of New Paris and Connie wife of Michael Amick of Bedford, four grandchildren; Danielle and Travis Finnegan, both of Claysburg, Adam Croyl of Tucson AZ, Michael Amick of Bedford, three great grandchildren; Jaden Rowe, Brayden Croyl and Trevor Finnegan. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: John and Ralph Croyl, both of North Carolina, Chuck Croyl of Florida, Robert Croyl of Virginia, Jim Croyl of Central City and Dorothy Hetzer of Somerset.  She was preceded in death by a daughter Dorla J. “Janie”, a bother Jacob Croyl, two sisters; Ruth Kagarise and Anna Mary Wright, an infant sister Grace and an infant great grandson Matthew Croyl.

Mr. Croyl was a member of St. John’s Christian Church in Cessna.  He was a retired truck driver for Interstate Motor Freight, and a Korean War Veteran serving with the Air Force.

Funeral Services: Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev. Eric Larson officiating.  Burial at the Osterburg Community Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
