Francis N. “Pap” Woods, 75, of Bedford, PA, and Centreville, VA, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, in Fairfax, VA. He was born on December 5, 1939, in Tiffin, OH, a son of the late Hildriff F. and Florence Irene (DeVault) Woods. On June 25, 1961, in Pittsburgh, he married Nancy (March) Woods, who survives along with the following family: three daughters, Marsha Halbach and husband Al, of Centreville, VA, Marcia Ritter, and husband Mark, of Centreville, VA, and Pam Halbach, and husband Dean, of Leesburg, VA; nine grandchildren: Michelle Baquero and husband Michael, Joshua, Stephanie, and Brian Halbach, Matthew, Michael, and Marissa Ritter, Nicole and Ryan Halbach; and one great-granddaughter, Kennedy Halbach. He was preceded in death by four brothers: Burt, Eddie, Howard, and Donnie Woods, and three sisters: Anna, Delores, and Eileen.
Mr. Woods was a baker and started out working for united Bakery on South Side in Pittsburgh. He then retired after 10 years, from Rosenblooms Bakery in Squirrel Hill. For over 30 years, Francis and Nancy enjoyed camping for six months at a time, at Friendship Village Campground in Bedford. He loved fishing and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his great-granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 12:00 p.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Randy Rhodes, officiating. Burial at Bedford Cemetery. Friends will be received on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m., until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
