Francis X. Moriarty

Francis X. “Frank” “Sonny” Moriarty, 82, of Bedford, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. He was born on November 9, 1931, in Philadelphia, a son of the late Francis X. and Anne (O'Donnell) Moriarty. On June 5, 1975, in Chester County, he married Kathryn (Heller) Moriarty who preceded him in death on March 23, 2011.  He is survived by a daughter, Theresa Chase, and a son, Patrick Moriarty, a step-son, Bruce P. Lockhart Sr. and former wife Donna, a step- granddaughter, Denise A. wife of Kevin Mock a step- grandson Bruce P. Lockhart Jr. all of Bedford; step great-granddaughter, Shayla R. Mock; four sisters: Patricia wife of Joe Gallagher, of Malvern, Virginia Swinehart, of West Chester, Mary Lou wife of John Chappell, and Martha Darpino widow of Joseph,  both of Malvern; two brothers: Timothy Moriarty of West Chester, and Michael Moriarty, of Flushing, NY; and numerous nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two sisters and their husbands: Catherine and Leonard Venezia and Annabelle and Nicholas Braccia and a brother and his wife, John and Patricia Moriarty.

Frank served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  He retired as a plumber and was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at the St. Thomas Catholic Church, in Bedford, with Father Donald Dusza, Celebrant. Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
