Forrest V. Mcvicker

Forrest V. "Zeke" McVicker, 94, of  Bedford, died Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Donahoe Manor Nursing Home.  He was born on December 26, 1908 in Bedford, a son of the late Samuel I. and Elsie (Smith) McVicker.  On February 9, 1932,  in Romney, WV  He married  Elva Hershberger  who preceded him in death on January 14, 1999.  He is survived by the following family a daughter, Donna wife of Allen Carbaugh of Woodbury, 2 Grandsons, Gregg Carbaugh married to the former Roseanna Janidlo of Woodbury, Roy Carbaugh married to the former Cindy Clapper of New Enterprise, 2 Grandaughters, Joan wife of Jerry  Bechtel of Martinsburg, and  Julie wife of  Douglas Browell of Hopewell, 8 great grandchildren Jason, Jamie, Jennifer, Dustin, Ashley, Jarod, Kaycee, and  Ryan. He was preceded in death by 1 infant son William, 1 son Samuel , 1 grandson Paul McVicker, 3 Brothers Harold, Kenny, and St. Clair  and 3 Sisters Josephine, Sister Edna, and Ellen Jane.

He was a member of the St. Paul's Reformed Church and a WWII Vet. He served with the 363rd infantry and 91st Regiment with Lt. General Clarks 5th Army. He landed in Africa and fought the Leghorn of Italy.

Graveside Service:  Saturday, June 14, 2003, at 11:00 AM at St Paul’s Cemetery, with  Pastor Bob Newell officiating.  Friends will be received on Friday June 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Timothy A.
