Florine M. Means

Florine M. Means, 84, of Bedford, died Saturday, September 5, 2009, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on February 20, 1925, in Altoona, a daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Hemcher) Myers.  On September 27, 1942 in Dundalk, MD, She married Richard J. Means and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1997.  She is survived by a granddaughter, Vickie Geisler of Bedford, and two grandsons, Richard L. Defibaugh and Greg Geisler both of Bedford, three great grandchildren: Jeffrey & Steven Geisler and Matthew Defibaugh, two great great grandsons:  Noah and Wyatt, two sisters, Mary widow of William Heiss of Altoona, and Marge widow of Matthew Wrenn of College Park, MD.  She was preceded in death by one daughter:  Sandra Defibaugh, three brothers:  Jim Myers widow of Shirley who survives of Altoona, Jack Myers and Charlie Myers widow of Nancy who survives of Altoona and one sister Joann Myers.

She was of the protestant faith and retired from Kennametal after 34 years.

Funeral Services:  Monday, September 14, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joseph Puleo officiating.  Burial at Alto Rest Cemetery in Altoona.  Friends will be recieved on Monday at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
