Felix E. Finocchio

Felix E. Finocchio, 83, of Preston St., Bedford, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Altoona Hospital.  He was born September 15, 1927 in Philadelphia, son of the late Felice and Ida (Tosti) Finocchio.  On October 23, 1949 he married Ann Stefanick and she survives along with two sons; Robert F. Finocchio of State College and Thomas M. Finocchio and wife Sharon of Altoona.  Also surviving are three grandchildren; Robert Jr. and Richard of State College and Rebecca of Missouri, and seven great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Nathan and Earnest.

Mr. Finocchio was a World War II Navy Seabees Veteran that served in the South Pacific aboard the USS Barrow and USS Rankin.  He was a lifelong member of the Philipsburg Elks, the American Legion and the VFW. He retired in 1990 from H.R. Imbt of State College, and prior to that, he was in the coal business with his father and brother and later with his son, Robert.

Funeral Mass will be held today, Tuesday May 31, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford with Father Donald Dusza celebrant.  Entombment at Bedford County Memorial Park.  There will be no visitation.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
