Evelyn Putt, 60, of McCoy Lane, New Paris, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at her residence. She was born on May 18, 1954 in Rochester, New York a daughter of late Roderick and Esther (Hawes) Smith. On January 29, 1982 she married Donald Putt, who preceded her in death on July 2, 2009.
She is survived by a son James Putt, and wife Jamie of Bedford, a daughter Dawn Boggs and husband Mike of Bedford, step-son; Bill Putt and wife Margie of Spencerport, New York, Kevin Putt and wife Frances of Manheim, PA, four grandchildren: Lauryn, Austin, Halee, and Bella, nine step-grandchildren: Justin, Josh, Jamie, Jenna, Branden, Stephanie, Amanda, Taylor, and Bella, and brothers and a sister.
Evelyn had a passion for helping people and realized her dream of becoming a nurse around 2003. She loved spending time with her patients, their families and her co-workers at Southern Care Hospice of Altoona. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed crocheting, spending time with family and friends, and most of all she loved being a Grammy. She also was the team leader of Angels Among Us for Relay for Life. She donated her body to Science Care and a memorial will be held at a later date. Those wishing may make memorial donations in her name to the C/O Angels Among Us, American Cancer Society, 1004 North Juniata Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648. Arrangements by Timothy A.
