Eva L. Kight, 81, of Cumberland Valley Lane, Bedford, died Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Western Maryland Health System in Cumberland. She was born July 29, 1929 in Cumberland, daughter of the late George Washington Cover and Iva Pearl (Thomas) Cover. On June 14, 1947 in Cumberland Valley she married Ray A. Kight and he preceded her in death on April 1, 1998. She is survived by three children; Donald R. Kight, married to the former Linda Williams of Cumberland Valley, John L. Kight, married to the former Jaunita Hamilton of Baltimore and Darlene J. wife of Marion F. Carolan of Riva, MD. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter, and the following brothers and sisters; Jean Oliver of Falling Waters, WV, Norma Howe of Cumberland Valley, Wendell Cover and wife Lois of Alexandria, VA, Stanley Cover and wife Jeannie of Cumberland Valley, and Glen Cover and wife Yvonne of Riverview, FL. She was preceded in death by two granddaughters; Donielle and Kimberly, two brothers; George and Chester Cover and a sister Sharon Williams.
Mrs. Kight was a member of the Bedford Valley Assembly of God Church. Along with being a homemaker, she had worked at a steel mill, prior to that at Montgomery Wards and Bendix Corp., all in Baltimore. She was a 1946 graduate of Bedford High School.
Funeral services: Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from the Bedford Valley Assembly of God Church with Rev. Wendell Cover and Rev. Troy Gearhart officiating. Burial at Fellowship Cemetery in Centerville. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.
