Eugene H. “Soney” Sell, 88, of Bedford, died on Monday, June 22, 2026 at UPMC Altoona. He was born on June 18, 1938 in Claysburg, a son of the late Lawrence and Mary Sell. On April 21, 1962 in Cumberland, MD, he married Joan (Wilson) Sell and she survives along with a son: Eric Sell of Orlando, FL; two grandchildren: Callen and Mason Sell; and a great-grandson: Grayson Sell. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Chalmer and Edwin Sell; and a sister, Dolores Sell.

Eugene graduated from Claysburg High School, class of 1956 and served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by Kennametal as a machinist for 46 years until his retirement. In earlier years, he and his wife attended Bedford Valley Assembly of God where he played guitar and taught Sunday School. More recently, he attended Everett Church of God where he enjoyed singing occasionally. He was a simple man who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting in his younger days, and loved being with his family and his animals.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Everett Church of God in Everett with Pastor John Kisner officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.
