Ethel E. Wilhelm

Ethel Edel Wilhelm, 93, of Dark Hollow Road, Bedford, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014, at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home.  She was born on July 26, 1921, in Cumberland, MD, a daughter of the late Charles S. and Ruth N. (Conway) Slonaker.  On April 11, 1942, in Cumberland, MD, she married Clinton A. Wilhelm, who preceded her in death on May 9, 2013.  She is survived by the following family: daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Nicholas, wife of Delbert, of Cresaptown, MD, daughter Betty Jane Wilson, wife of John, of Bedford, daughter, Sue Ellen Greise, wife of Tom, of Green Cove Springs, FL, daughter, Anna Beth Dumas, wife of Bill, of LaVale, MD, and a son, David Wilhelm, and wife Rose, of Bedford; 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Beatrice Mayo, wife of Jack, of Florida.   She was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Clark, and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wilhelm was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, and worked as a dietician for Cumberland and Bedford Hospital.  She was a former member of the Grange Hall, and enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and her pets.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014, at 3:00 p.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A.
