Esther "Jane" Patterson

Esther “Jane” Patterson, 92, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the home of her daughter, Nancy, In Wilmington, NC, where she resided for the past six years. Jane was born on January 12, 1918 in Altoona, a daughter of the late Amos C. and Mary J. (Sickles) Davis. Along with her twin brother Paul, they were the last of nine Davis children. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Patterson Manock wife of John “Jack”, of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren: J. Gregory and Lynn M. Manock also of Wilmington, NC, twin brother Paul N. Davis husband of Lois, of Mountain Home, AR, and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church and a volunteer for the RSVP. Jane graduated from Altoona High School. She retired from the Pennsylvania Public School System in 1984 as a teacher’s aide and driver for special needs children.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with the Rev. Jeff Welsch officiating. Friends will be received 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial at Alto Rest Cemetery in Altoona.
