Esther Y. England, 90, of formerly of Bedford, died Monday, August 16, 2004 at Homewood Nursing Home, in Martinsburg. She was born on December 27, 1913 in Meyersdale, a daughter of the late Charles L.and Clara (Hoffmeyer) Yutzy. On July 23, 1939 in Cumberland, MD, she married the late D.S. Clyde England whopreceded her in death on February 11, 1996. She is survived by 1 sister, Mabel Martin of Anapolis, MD, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 6 sisters and a 1 brother.
She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Bedford for many years. After moving to Homewood in 1994, she became a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Martinsburg. She was also a member of the Bedford Springs Chapter #41 Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. England attended Allegheny High School in Cumberland and was employed by the Celanese Corporation.
Funeral Services on Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at 2:00 PM from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with the Rev. Dr. M. Edgar Datesman officiating, Burial in Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 7-9 PM, and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
