Ernestine L. (Lohr) Phillips

Ernestine Lohr Phillips 96, of Bedford, died Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Meadow View Nursing Center in Berlin.  She was born on November 28, 1926 in Mount Savage, MD, a daughter of the late Helen (Mowry) Lohr.  On October 1, 1945 she married Robert F. Phillips in Bedford, who preceded her in death on October 6, 2007.  She is survived by two children: Robert S. Phillips and wife Mary, of New Boston, NH, and Barbara Godsey and husband Stephen, of Piedmont, SC; eight grand-children:  Julie Bosch, Jennifer  (Phillips) Muscato and husband USAF Colonel Shane Muscato, Natalie James and husband Geoffrey, Jeena (Godsey) Fox and husband Gaelin,  Jacob Phillips, Magdalene Phillips, Sarah Phillips; ten great-grandchildren: Samuel Bosch, Grace Bosch , Lillian Bosch, Alexander James,  Cordelia James, Abigail Muscatto, Casey Muscatto, Samantha Phillips, Jonathan Phillips, and Colton Fox. She was preceded in death by three siblings: Raymond, Robert, and infant Bonnie Mae Phillips; and grandson David Phillips. Ernestine was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ.  She was an excellent quilter and seamstress.  Ernestine was a homemaker, but also held her commercial driver’s license, being taught by her husband Robert.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
