Elna M. Young

Elna M. Young, 88 of Laurel, Maryland, formerly of Bedford, died Monday, July 18, 2011 at Morningside Assisted Living in Laurel. She was born February 22, 1923 in Eskilsate, Sweden, daughter of the late Gustav S. and Ruth F. (Johansson) Anderson. On February 13, 1946 in Arlington, VA, she married Charles P. Young, and he preceded her in death on July 30, 2004. She is survived by two daughters; Mary Anne wife of William Wellford of Laurel, MD and Diane R. Geshwind of Phoenix, AZ, three granddaughters; Amanda, Laura and Robyn and three great grandchildren; Elijah, Emma and Sam.
Mrs. Young was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services: Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 12:00 noon in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev. Doug Friant officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at noon.
