Ella Louise Wells, 90, of Bedford Valley Road, Bedford, died Saturday, October 29, 2011, at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on January 4, 1921, in Whitehouse, TN, a daughter, of the late George Duncan and Mary Elizabeth (Trent) Clark. On October 1, 1946 in Georgia, she married Ernest Clifton Wells who preceded her in death on January 14, 1986. Ella is survived by a son, Brian C. Wells married to the former Polly Ann Suter who reside in Centerville; two grandchildren: Christy Grace Wells, of State College, and Mark Brian Wells and wife Crista, of Dallastown; two great-grandsons: Zachary Mark and Austin Joshua Wells; and a brother J.D. Clark of Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Rachel Ann Wells; three sisters: Minnie E. Freedle, Rosie Mae Clark, and Earline Videtoe; and two brothers: Howard and Brownlow Clark, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends from Kentucky and Tennessee.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints. Ella was a retired hair dresser, who enjoyed quilt making, puzzle books, reading and playing cards. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford. Burial at Bortz Lutheran Cemetery.
