Eleanor M. (Putt) Grundy

Eleanor M. Grundy, 97, of Bedford, died Thursday, December 5, 2024 at her son and daughter in law’s residence in North Chesterfield, VA. She was born on August 22, 1927 in Clymer, a daughter of the late Clyde Othello and Nora (Barnett) Putt.  She was married for 62 years to Jack W. Grundy, who preceded her in death on July 12, 2008.  She is survived by two sons: Rodney Grundy (Rebecca Murrell), and Thomas Grundy (Karen) of Virginia; three grandchildren: Heather Jamison, Paula Winn, Jeremiah Grundy; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Dean, Gordon, and Wayne Putt; and a sister Marlene (Putt) Rice.

Eleanor was retired from the Bedford School District, having worked in the cafeteria at both the high school and middle schools. The family wishes to thank Nayar Hospice of Ashland, VA as well as special caregivers Alma Nave and Faye Osterbind.

Private burial will be held at Bedford Cemetery. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
