Edward T. Smith

Edward T. Smith, 68, of Bedford, died Thursday, October 9, 2008 at his daughter’s residence.  He was born on September 24, 1940 in Snake Spring TWP, son of the late Edward P. Smith and Lillian M. (Ford) Smith. He is survived by four children:  Sheri wife of Denny Lowery of Schellsburg, Jeff Smith of Everett, Mike Smith married to the former Sandy Wertz of Bedford, and Amy wife of Jeff Amick of Everett, six grandchildren:  Brian Way, Alicia, Sarah, Ryan & Bodie Smith and Kristin wife of John Pedraza, two great grandchildren, a sister, Marcella "Sis" wife of Alonza Ritchey and a brother, Terry Smith married to the former Edna Claycomb, both of Everett.  He was preceded in death by one infant sister.

He was an avid hunter and trapper and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  He was a self employed mechanic, and prior to that had worked for New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company and prior to that, at the former Don Rice Ford.

Funeral Services:  Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Tom Smith officiating.  Burial in Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the funeral home.
