Edna E. Diehl, 88, of, Everett, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. She was born on August 18, 1926, in Everett, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary J. (Miller) Swindell. She is survived by a granddaughter, Denise Sennett of York, two brothers, Robert Swindell, J. Duane Swindell and wife Gladys all of Everett. She was preceded in death by a husband William S. Diehl Sr., and a son William S. Diehl Jr. and wife Julie who survives of York, six brothers: three infant brothers and Elza, Roy, and Paul Swindell, and two sisters: Mildred Carper and Evelyn Diehl.
Edna was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren and the Snake Spring Church of the Brethren, until she moved to York in 1982 and became a member of the Lutheran Church. She retired from the Dietary Department in York Hospital. When she lived in Everett, she worked as a secretary for Dibert Feed Service, waitressed at Fort Bedford Inn, and was a clerk at Maurice’s in Everett. She was a former member of the Eastern Star in Saxton.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home with Pastor David Wright officiating. Burial at Bethel Cemetery.
