Edith F. Stern, 87, of Arandale Street Bedford, died Sunday, July 6, 2003 at UPMC Lee Regional hospital in Johnstown. She was born on October 19, 1915 in Yellow Creek. A Daughter of the late Rev. Joseph H. and the late Bertha (Creps) Clapper, On September 22, 1941 in Cumberland, MD She married Charles N. Stern who preceded her in death on June 18, 1990. She is survived by the following family, 1 Son, William Charles Stern married to the former Nancy Judy of Winchester, Va, 3 grandsons Charles William, David Lee, Timothy Daniel, 4 Sister, Eleanor Strack of Camp Hill, Alice Bennett of Akron, OH, Martha Dibert of Johnstown, Lucy Carberry of Camp Hill, and 1 Brother, Joseph H. Clapper of Hopewell. She was preceded in death by 1 brother Horace Clapper, 3 sisters: Juliet Clapper, Roberta Shaffer, Janet Dilling.
She was a member of the Bedford Church of the Brothren, she graduated from Smith High School in Yellow Creek and had attended Thompson Business School in Harrisburg she worked for H.L. Stern Company for many years.
Funeral Services: Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at 10:00 AM from the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, with the Rev. Claude Hall officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, and 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home
