Dwight "Sonny" Beegle

Dwight E. “Sonny” Beegle, 85, of Bedford, died on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Homewood at Martinsburg. He was born on May 13, 1937, in Bedford, a son of the late Homer and Irene (Smith) Beegle. On March 25, 1978, in Bedford, he married Kathleen (Hinton) Beegle who survives along with a step-daughter Linda Etter and husband Tracy of Enola; a step-son Larry Price and wife Nichole of Dauphin; five step-grandchildren; and ten step-great grandchildren; a sister Dottie Ashba of Willis, TX; and several nephews and cousins.

Sonny graduated from Everett High School in 1955 where he enjoyed playing football for the Warriors. He was an Air Force veteran and worked for Everett Cash Mutual and other insurance companies as a claims adjuster.  He was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church, a charter member and past president of the Lions Club, Jaycees, Ridge Runner Hunting Club, and Big Possums, and was known as “Boss Poss”.  He enjoyed golfing, gardening, hunting, and being outside.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Jim Miller officiating.  Burial will be private.  Friends will be received on Monday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.   Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
