Dorothy B. Timoney

Dorothy Bergen Timoney, 86 of Pennknoll Road, Everett, died Friday, June 5, 2009 at her residence.  She was born on November 3, 1922, in Long Island, NY, a daughter, of the late Donald and Anne (Hunter) Bergen.  On September 11, 1947 in Newark, NJ, she married James D. Timoney and he survives along with a son, Craig J. Timoney married to the former Brenda Wood of Bedford, three grandchildren:  Lauren E. Timoney, Sarah A. Timoney, and Craig J. Timoney Jr. all of Bedford.

Dorothy had worked for Otis Elevator and AT&T until her son Craig was born.  She then became a stay at home mom who involved herself in parent teacher organizations and became a Cubscout Den Mother.  She enjoyed cooking, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife.  Dorothy and her husband moved to Bedford in 1981 to help her son open the Burger King Restaurant in Bedford. She worked there until her retirement in 2002.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 8, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with the Rev. Walter Hoard officiating.  burial at Bedford Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Monday, one hour prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Those wishing may make contributions in Dorothy’s name to UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital, 10455 Lincoln Highway, Everett, Pa. 15537-9889.
