Dorothy L. Tew

Dorothy L. Tew, 80, of Teaberry Road, Bedford, died Sunday, February 22, 2009 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on April 18, 1928, in Ott Town a daughter, of the late Earl and Sara (Steele) Wilson.  On February 22, 1947 in Cumberland, MD she married Stanley L. Tew and he preceded in death on May 2, 2006.  She is survived by a daughter, Jeannie Redinger, of Bedford,  two sons, Jerry Tew and, Denny Tew both of Bedford, five grandchildren:  Gene, Lee, and Jason Redinger, Mike Lankey and Tamie Dickson, five great grandchildren:  Jenny, Gregory, and Henry Redinger, Hunter and Brooke Lankey, two step-great grandchildren:  Jason McDaniel and Brady Kirsch, a sister, Mildred Judy of Bedford, a brother, Paul Wilson of Monroeville, a sister, Alberta Rose of Bedford, a sister, Patricia Mock of Alum Bank, a brother, Robert Wilson, of Bedford, and a sister, Barbara Miller of Bedford.  She was preceded in death by one daughter Susie Tew, and one sister Carolyn Wilson.

She was a member of the Bedford Church of the Brethren and retired in 1993 after 26 years working as a secretary for the Bedford School District.

Funeral Services:  Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, Inc., in Bedford with the Pastor Marilyn Lerch officiating.  Burial at Burning Bush Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
