Dorothy P. Shaffer, 82, of Industrial Ave, Bedford, died Saturday, October 31, 2015, at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on August 9, 1933 in Bedford, a daughter of the late Grace (Nicodemus) Leonard. On December 18, 1950 in Shellsburg, she married Glenn E. Shaffer, who survives along with three daughters: Cathy Horner and husband Randy, of Baltimore, MD, Glenda Stickel, and husband Kevin, of Bedford, and Sharon Foor and husband Rusty, of Everett; five grandchildren: Michael Gartside, Kelly Mullen, Amber Stickel and fiancé Levi Ferrell, Jesse and Steven Foor; nine great-grandchildren; a brother Clyde Leonard, and wife Sue, of Baltimore, MD; special niece Bonnie Guyton, of Elk Ridge, MD and a special nephew, Toby Hillegass, of Bedford. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacy Smith, three brothers: Frank, Louis, and Kenny Leonard; and three sisters: Virginia Mellott, Lucille Higgins, and Katherine Leonard.
Mrs. Shaffer was a homemaker, and enjoyed bingo, and keeping in touch with family and friends on Facebook.
