Dorothy M. James

Dorothy M. James, 85, of Pennknoll Village, formerly of Friends Cove, died Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Pennknoll.  She was born on July 27, 1922 in Snake Spring Valley, a daughter of the late Samuel I. and Freda M. (Baker) Ritchey. On October 27, 1939 in Cumberland, MD, She married John G. James who preceded her in death on October 22, 2001.  She is survived by the following family, a daughter, Beverly wife of  Perry Shaffer of Schellsburg, a daughter, Shirley wife of William R. Filer of Trafford, , a daughter, Carol wife of Stuart Marschall of Olathe, KS, a daughter, Dorothy James of Phoenix, AZ, a son, John G. James widower of Barbara Zembower of Bedford, a  daughter, Patricia L. wife of Arthur Hough of Stafford, VA, a daughter, Connie L. wife of Robert Mitchell of Bedford, 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.  She was preceded in death by two daughters:  Debbie & Susan, and two Brothers Norman and Ray Ritchey.

She was affiliated with the former Rainsburg Methodist Church and was a graduate of Bedford High School class of 1939.

Funeral Services:  Monday, June 2, 2008, at 11:00 AM in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with the Rev. Virgil Frazier officiating.  Burial in Woods Church Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Monday, one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Thos wishing may make contributions H.P.C.
