Doris J. (Mellott) Fletcher

Doris J. Fletcher, 79, of Bedford died on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Homewood at Martinsburg. She was born on November 3, 1939 in Fulton County, a daughter of the late Alfred L. and Margaret (Cooper) Mellott. On October 25, 1959, in Bedford, she married William "Bink" Fletcher Jr. and he preceded her in death on February 15, 2008. She is survived by the following family: two sons Scott Fletcher and wife Jamie of Bedford, Kurt Fletcher of Bedford,  a daughter  Billie Fletcher-Haines and husband Andrew of Hollidaysburg; three grandchildren:  Brandon, Sam, and Margaret; one great-grandson:  Draven; one sister, Helen Burket and husband Donald of Everett; two brothers, Guy Mellott and wife Gloria of Bedford, and Randy Mellott and wife Nancy also of Bedford.  She was preceded in death by a son William Fletcher; one granddaughter Alexis; two brothers:  Walter and Raymond Mellott; and one sister Ruby McKee.

Doris was a member and secretary of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bedford she also was active with their food drive at the church and the hospitality committee.  Doris worked as a receptionist at the Bedford Springs Hotel for many years until its closing and then worked at the Everett Library.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Bedford with Rev. Adam Kravets officiating. Burial at Sweet Root Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Friday from 4 -7 p.m. at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford and on Saturday 1 hour prior to the service at the Calvary Baptist Church.
