Donald "Wally" Rice Jr.

Donald W. "Wally" Rice Jr., 73 of Bedford died on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at his residence. He was born on April 20, 1948, in Everett a son of the late Donald W. Rice Sr. and Dorothy "Dotty" (Kerr) Rice who survives of Bedford. He is  survived by a son Jerry  Rice of Byhalia, MS; a son Jeff Rice and wife Buffie of Arlington, TN and a daughter Chelsie D. East and husband Julian of Hernando, MS; four grandchildren:  Alissa, Preston, Paisley, and Peyton; and three great-grandchildren; one brother Steven Rice of Bedford; and a niece Briana Rice of also of Bedford.  He was preceded in death by a granddaughter Taylor and a great-granddaughter Bella.

Wally worked for Don Rice Ford and drove truck for Tri County Milk Haulers and Gene Koontz. He also drove for RV Transports and ended his trucking career with Landstar.  He enjoyed watching western movies and was catching up on all the episodes he missed while driving truck.  He also enjoyed dirt track racing and bass fishing.  Wally was of the Lutheran faith.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev. Raymond E. Short officiating.  Burial at Schellsburg Cemetery.   Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 10 -11 a.m. at the funeral home.   Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
