Donald E. Morris, 78, of E. Pitt St., Bedford, died Friday, April 13, 2012 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown. He was born May, 9, 1933 in Bedford, a son of the late Walter W. and Margaret E. (Mowry) Morris. He is survived by three children; Kim A. Morris, married to the former Brenda Samples of Lewisberry, Donald E. Morris II, married to the former Christine Weaver of Schellsburg, and Karen S. wife of Corey D. Forsha of Leola. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Alicia, Marc, Leslie, Alex, Carrie, Kelly, Christopher and Amy, seven great grandchildren; Owen, Gavyn, Gaia, Sebastian, Arianna, Zoe and Cashton, a sister Shirley, wife of Carl J. Miller of Bedford and a brother Robert Morris and wife Dolores of Hollywood, FL and his dog Blackie.
Mr. Morris was an over-the-road truck driver for over 53 years, and served with the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chestnut Ridge Independent Fellowship Church in Fishertown with Rev. Daniel Oldham officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church.
