Donald F. Miller Sr.

Donald F. Miller Sr., 81 of Bedford, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born on November 13, 1936, in Bedford, a son of the late Charles F. Miller and A. Virginia (Bryant) Miller-Rose. On January 21, 1959, in Cumberland, MD, he married Marian M. (O'Brien) Miller who survives along with the following family: two  daughters, Michele D. Miller, of Everett; and Rochele M. Shawyer of Boonsboro, MD; one son, Donald F. Miller Jr. married to the former Michelle L. Williams, of Bedford; six grandchildren: Danyelle, Erica, Whitney, Meagan, Kyle, and Ashley; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley L. (Rose) Stahl, of Chambersburg; and many nieces and nephews and their families.  He was preceded in death by his step-father, William Rose, a brother, Robert Miller, two sisters, O. Phyllis Bradley and A. Marie Moreland and five brother-in-law’s; four infant children and two infant grandchildren.

Donald served in the Army from January 28th 1955 to January 27, 1958.  He worked various jobs throughout Bedford, including the Bedford Gazette and Hedstrom Corporation until their closing.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford with Father Richard Tomkosky officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park, with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service on Friday.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
