Donald F. Dively, 84, of Younts Road, Bedford, was tired and went to be with the Lord, on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. He was born on March 30, 1930, in Bedford, a son of the late John A. and Grace (Weicht) Dively. On October 23, 1950, in Yuma, AZ, he married Phyllis (Risbon) Dively, who survives along with four sons: Donald E. Dively married to the former, Rhonda Wertz, John A. Dively, Allen O. Dively, and Kyle L. Dively married to the former Abby Kline, all of Bedford; four grandchildren: Josie Dively, USMC Cpl. Alex Dively, USMC Cpl. Kevin Dively, and Kale Dively; two great-grandsons; and a sister, Pauline Sigel of Bedford. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy, two brothers, John and Charles Dively, and a sister, Mabel.
Mr. Dively was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1948 until 1952. He worked for Brown Motor Supply Company, and then retired from Kennametal, after 34 years. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, and tinkering around.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor Sean McGill officiating. Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park, with full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard. Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
