Dona F. Feather

Dona Faye Feather, 82, of Barnett Lane, East Freedom, and Bedford,  died Monday, September 1, 2014, at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  She was born on July 31, 1932, in Alum Bank, a daughter of the late Durban H, and Mabel (Sauter) Barefoot.  On May 18, 1952, in Imler, she married Doyle G. Feather, who survives along with the following family: two sons, Douglas Feather, married to the former Carol Hughes, of Bedford, Rodney Feather, married to the former Chris Dively, of Hollidaysburg, daughter, Tammy Feather-Wishard, wife of Allen, of Bedford; seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Feather) wife of Edward Danis, of Bristow, VA, Melissa (Feather) wife of Blake Lindstedt, of Blythewood, SC, Brett Feather, married to the former Catherine Lopez, of Florence, NJ, Mandy (Miller) wife of Jason Shippy, of Harrisonville, Jessica (Feather), wife of Travis Wertz, of Bridgeville, Jason Miller, married to the former, Lacey Madore, of Claysburg, Nisa (Feather) wife of Sean Makewiecki, of Cresson, stepgrandson, Ryan Wishard, step-granddaughter, Brooke Wishard; nine great-grandchildren, brother, Charles Barefoot, and wife Ellie, of Imler, two sister-in-laws, Ruby (Hengst) Barefoot, of Imler, and Rilla (Feather) Metz, of Roaring Spring, an aunt, Eloise (Sauter) Chicola, of Sidman, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by two sisters: Mildred (Barefoot) Drummond, and Hazel (Barefoot) Koontz, four brothers: Ivan, Harold, Ronald, and Donald Barefoot.

Mrs. Feather was a 1950 graduate of Bedford High School, and then attended Floral Design School in Chicago, IL.  She and her husband owned and operated Doyle’s Flower Shop in Bedford.  She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Sunshine Circle Group.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at the Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Raymond E. Short and Pastor Joel Kletzing, officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.  Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, and one hour prior to the service, at the church on Thursday.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com
