Dolores Ann (Heming) Shaffer

Dolores Ann Shaffer, 79 of Cumberland Road, Bedford, died Monday March 14, 2016, at Charleston Gardens, in Charleston, WV.  She was born on May 2, 1936 in Bedford, a daughter of the late Bernard and Grace (Leonard) Heming.  On June 19, 1954, in Winchester, VA, she married Ronald J. Shaffer, who preceded her in death on July 30, 2013.  She is survived by a daughter, Sandy wife of Dan Barnette, of Given, WV, a son Brian Shaffer married to the former Lisa Seifert, of Bedford, and a daughter, Julie, wife of Steve Sprowls, of Kissimmee, FL; nine grandchildren: Ashley, Landon, Joe, Brook, Shaun, Steven, Troy, Cameron, and Nick; five great-grandchildren: Joah, Jase, Carson, Adelyn, and Violet; and four sisters: Carol wife of Donald Foor, of Everett, Rita wife of John Bush, of Bedford, Sue Durr, of Bedford, and Karen, widow of Barry Smith, of Mt. Joy.

Dolores graduated from Bedford High School in 1954, and retired in 2009, after 35 years, from Bedford Hospital.  She was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church, where she looked forward to doughnut Sunday, and enjoyed bowling, cards, and dominoes.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Rev.
