Dennis Earl Heming

Dennis Earl Heming 81, of Bedford died Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Bedford Colonial Courtyard.  He was born on August 21, 1937 in Bedford a son of the late Dennis F. Heming and Martha (McMullen) Hensal.  On December 8, 1958 in Winchester, VA he married Marjorie A. (Arford) Heming who preceded him in death on April 8, 2012.  He is survived by three daughters: Denise Heming, Lisa Brown and husband Robert, and Marjorie Musselman and husband Terry, all of Bedford; five grandchildren: Alicia Laird and husband Jeremy, Amanda Copulos and husband James, Alex Brown and fiancée Brie Shaefer, Wesley Musselman and fiancée Lynette Taylor, and Tyler Musselman and wife Danielle; nine great-grandchildren: Noah and Alexander Laird, Micah and Henry Copulos, Nathan Allison, Hailey, Alyssa, and Jayden Musselman, and Denessa Musselman.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick V. Heming, and an infant brother, Lindsey N. Heming.

Dennis was a 1955 graduate of Bedford High School.  Upon graduation he served in the US Army during the Korean War, and received an Honorable Discharge.  Dennis worked for several companies through the years including Continental Sales, International Harvester, and retired from Thomas Chevrolet.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, earning the nicknames “Pappy Heming” and “Pappy Earl”.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., in the Chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor James Copulos officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park with full military rights by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  Our online guestbook is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com
