David A. Steele

David A. Steele 54 of Oakview Road, Bedford, died Monday February 25, 2008 at the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.  He was born November 22, 1953 in Hopewell, son of the late Harry and Betty (Pressel) Steele.  He was preceded in death by his first wife Jolinda (Garlick) Steele on April 8, 2001.  On July 18, 2002 in Winchester, VA, he married Linda (Sheirer) Nicodemus and she survives along with the falling family: a son Allen L. Steele of Everett, a daughter Karen A. Steele and companion Chris of New Paris, Three step-children: Brian C. Nicodemus and wife Misty of Alum Bank, Shawn K. Nicodemus and wife Jennifer of Osterburg and Chad S. Nicodemus and companion Erica of Imler, two grandchildren Jessica Steele and Reese Wissinger, five step grandchildren: Lucas, Cole, Kaiden, Eve Nicodemus and Wyatt Maxwell, a brother Ronald Steele and wife Connie and a sister Karen wife of James Smith both of Hopewell.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Breezewood and had worked as a Maintenance Mechanic at Wal-Mart Distribution Center, prior to that he had worked at the Town Hill Plaza and a Gary’s Mobile Homes.  Dave was an avid golfer, liked to do wood working and enjoyed spending time with his family.  He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity and was dearly loved and deeply respected by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.

Memorial services: Thursday 11:00 am in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Jeff Welsch and Rev. Gary Boor officiating.  Burial at the Mt Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Breezewood.  Friends will be received on Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm and 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
