David C. Fink, 65, of Briar Valley Road, Bedford, died Saturday, May 17, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on August 17, 1948, in Huntingdon, a son of the late David C. and Rosetta (Cook) Fink. On August 18, 1979, in Bedford, he married Bonita “Bonnie” (Deffibaugh) Fink who survives along with the following family: four sons, Brian L. Yingling and partner, Sherri Miller of Bedford, Brent J. Yingling and partner, Heather Trail of Manns Choice, Michael D. Fink married to the former, Tonya Brown, of Dover, Justin Fink, married to the former, Nicole Meyers, of Bedford; a daughter, Christine N. wife of Wesley Hoagland of York; nine grandchildren: Cody, Cole, Shaun, Dalton, Megan, Derreck, Tyler, Michaela, and Laeton; three great-grandchildren: Dominic, Draden, and Dayton. He was preceded in death by a grandson Andrew Miller.

David was affiliated with the Bedford Church of the Brethren, and a graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School, class of 1966.  He served in the Army during the Vietnam War, and was in contact with agent orange, that resulted in his brief illness.  He worked as a milk man for Sani Dairy for many years, in Bedford, and then as a Sherriff’s Deputy.  He became the 1st Warden for the new jail.  He then retired from Wal-Mart Distribution Center, in 2010.  He loved antique shopping with his Aunt Sandy, and Uncle Bill. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed deer hunting and mushroom hunting and still managed to find some during his illness.  David was kind hearted and loved by his family, friends, and neighbors, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at 6:00 p.m., in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford, with Pastor John Bennett officiating, and full military rites conducted by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.  Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
