Darlene M. (Shippey) Risbon

Darlene M. Risbon, 77, of Bedford, died on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at her residence. She was born on September 22, 1945, in Hagerstown, MD, a daughter of the late Edward “Ed” Shippey and Mildred (Hornbaker) Buser and husband Bart.   On June 18, 1962 in Bedford, she married Jerry Risbon who survives along with three daughters, Tammy Kendall and husband Brian of Myrtle Beach, SC, Pamela Wilt and husband Kevin of Bedford; Jeri Wilson and husband Jimmy of Bedford; seven grandchildren:  Jason Kendall and wife Amanda of Everett, Josh Kendall of Bedford, Jacob Kendall and wife Kylee of Myrtle Beach, SC, TSGT Jonathan Wilt and Jordan Wilt both of Bedford, Christopher Wilson and wife Paige of Bedford, and Alexis Wilson of Bedford;  eight great-grandchildren:  Samantha, Jett, Jade, Hunter, Jacob, Kynlee, Elyza, and Jillian.  two sisters:  Sylvia Williams widow of Park of Schellsburg and Sandy Fleegle and husband Tom of Alum Bank.  Darlene enjoyed taking care of her family, and their home.  She enjoyed traveling and going to the beach.  And was a social member with her husband at the Bedford American Legion.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Jim Miller officiating.  Burial at Bedford County Memorial Park.
