Dale Thomas “Tom” Slocum, 86, of Everett, died on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Pennknoll Village Nursing Home. He was born on October 1, 1938, in Kahletown, a son of the late Roy Allen and Violet Rose (Jackson) Slocum. On September 12, 1959 in Brookville, he married Amy Lou (Altman) Slocum who survives along with the following family: three daughters, Susan J. Llewellyn and husband Steven of Centerville; Mary Ruth Steele and husband Joseph of Hopewell; Karen A. Braman and significant other Roger Perrin of Everett, and a son, Dale Thomas Slocum II of Quarryville; 11 grandchildren: Jon, Mike, Adam, Matt, Ann, Tracy, Kortnee, Brooke, Shannon, Cassie, and Shania and 20 great-grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by two brothers David and Fred Slocum, and one sister Helen Louetta "Pat" Reid.
Tom was a member of the Bedford Methodist Church and retired as a foreman after 35 years with AT&T. He enjoyed being outdoors camping, hunting, fishing, and cutting firewood. He drove the race car hauler for Don Snyder and enjoyed working on cars and race cars. He was an avid NASCAR fan and mechanic. He loved spending time with his family especially traveling to the family reunions every year.
Friends will be received on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 1-4 p.m., at Bedford United Methodist Church 132 E John St., Bedford, in the Arrangements by Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.
