Dale E. Fletcher

Dale E. Fletcher, 76, of S. Richard St., Bedford, died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at the Altoona Hospital.  He was born August 12, 1934 in Bedford, son of the late William and Cora (Bingham) Fletcher.  On August 19, 1960 in Cumberland, MD, he married Ruie Ann Rice and she survives along with five children; LaRhonda A. Batzel and companion Bruce E. Koontz of Everett, Todd E. Fletcher, married to the former Karen States of Tipton, Michael D. Fletcher, married to the former Desiree D. Drayer of Reynoldsville, Dale E. Fletcher Jr., married to the former Debra Hupp, and Brenda wife of Ronald Padgitt, both of Marietta, Ohio, nine grandchildren; Chandra, Todd Michael, Aaron, Nolan, Maddox, Dustin, R.J., Anthony and Briana.  Also surviving are five brothers and sisters; Bob Fletcher of Bedford, Frances Stankon of Grafton, VA, Gay Ann Wilson of Penndale, Randy Fletcher of Bedford and Holly Smith of Tampa FL.   He was preceded in death by two brothers; William and Kenneth Fletcher, and a sister Coralee Daugherty.

Mr. Fletcher was a Merchant Marine, retiring in 1989, after his retirement he returned to his former occupation, as a truck driver.  He was also a former deputy sheriff.  Dale loved his family and being on the ocean.  He was a lifetime member of the NRA.

Funeral Services: Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Bob Strozyk officiating.  Burial at Bedford Cemetery.  Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Bedford County, 1108 Lutzville Road, Everett, PA 15537.  Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
