Cyrilla Anne “Sis” Traynor, of Cumberland Road, Bedford, died Friday, February 22, 2008 at Altoona Area Hospital. She was born in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late James R. and Cyrilla (O'Rourke) O'Hara. On May 17, 1952 in Pittsburgh, she married Edward J. Traynor and he preceded her in death on December 8, 1996. She is survived by her son, Kevin married to the former Sandra Skedel of Chambersburg, daughter, Nancy wife of Glenn Lenk of Everett, son, Keith of Schillington, daughter, Kimberly of Bedford, daughter, Kristine of Sterling, Va, and daughter, Kathleen wife of Michael Smith of Friedens, 13 Grandchildren: Gabriel, Ezera, Kristopher, Aaron, Eli, Devin, Matthew, Bridgette, Emily, Gunnar, Anne, and Jett, three great grandchildren: Hailee, Jayln, and Evan, one sister, Mary Elizabeth “Mae” widow of Harry Partridge of Orlando, FL. She was preceded in death by one grandson Daniel, three brothers: James, John, and Rev. Lawrence O'Hara, and an infant sister Cyrilla.
She was a member of the St Thomas Catholic Church, in Bedford where she was a Eucharistic Minister for the nursing homes in our area. She was also a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Daughters, and the head of the St. Thomas Respect life Commitee for 31 years. She was a member of the Bedford VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Prior to marriage she worked as a Private Secretary, for Georgia Pacific in Pittsburgh.
Funeral Mass: Tuesday, at 11:00 AM from the St Thomas Catholic Church in Bedford, with the Father Donald Dusza and Father Raymond Crosser celebrants. Burial at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery. Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, where a vigil service for the deceased will be held at 4:00 PM.
