Curtis A. Stevens

Master Chief Curtis A. Stevens, 78 of Fishertown, died July 22, 2008 at UPMC, Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born December 30, 1929 in Battle Creek, Mich, son of the late Harold and Mary Stevens. On April 16, 1960 he married Virginia K. Mickle and she survives along with one son Captain Curtis R. Stevens of Boston, Mass., a sister Lois McAllen of Vero Beach, Fla; a brother Robert Stevens of Ceresco, Mich.
He achieved the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer during his 24 year career in the Navy. After his retirement, he taught in the Chestnut Ridge School District for another 20 years.
Memorial services: Friday, July 25, 2008 at noon, at Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford with Rev. Daniel Oldham officiating. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. Friends will be received on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Those wishing may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Navy League of the United States.
