Clara K. Gardner, 76, of Arandale Street Bedford, died Thursday, February 22, 2007. She was born on January 31, 1931 in Central City, a daughter of the late Daniel and Erna (Paulson) Kahn. On March 19, 1949 in Cumberland, MD, She married the late Frederick A. Gardner who preceded her in death on July 9, 2000. She is survived by a son, Kenneth married to the former Melissa Miles of Indianapolis, IN, a daughter, Julie wife of Randall Weyandt of Oak Harbor, Oh, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Gardner was a member of the St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Everett, She was a Eucharistic minister for the nursing homes, and served on the finance council at the church. She was a member at the Bedford American Legion Aux, Bedford County Photo Club and the Lincoln Highway Assoc. Clara was the owner of Nanny’s Kids Store in Bedford, and was well known at the authority of the Ship Hotel, built by her grandfather Herbert Paulson. She graduated from Mt. Aloysius and was alumni. She was know as a tireless servant to her friends and family, and was a very loving mother and grandmother.
Funeral Mass: Monday, February 26, 2007, at 11:00AM from the St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Everett, with Celebrant Father Norman P. Imgrund officiating. Burial at Schellsburg Cemetery. Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford.
